Orlando was adopted at the age of 18 months by his aunt Catherine Edwards after the death of his parents. His brother Frank Martin met up with him for the first time since he was adopted in France where they were both serving. Orlando was killed 2 weeks later. Frank died of wounds a week after Orlando
