V Stafford said he saw the soldier, Halloran, wounded by a bullet in the stomach out in no mans land about a 150 yards from the frontline at Fleurbaix. A mate wanted to carry the soldier in but he said �No�. He did not want to be moved as he was dying. He did not know what became of him afterwards

Pte. Whiteside, who is in the group photo taken in Egypt, wrote to the Hallorans as he was in same company. He stated that he has had no news of Tim either official or unofficial. Mrs. Halloran asked the army for any news of her son.
