4/8/15 He went to hospital gastro enteritis and was to be returned to Egypt. He therefore missed the attack on Lone Pine and The Nek
He arrived in Heliopolis on the �Ionian� on August 9th 1915.

25/10/15 He returned to Gallipoli
3/11/15 He was promoted to Corporal
1/1/16 He became a Sergeant
4/2/16 He was sick in hospital mumps
26/2/16 He returned to his unit in Heliopolis
He was wounded in Gallipoli and also contracted a number of illnesses including influenza, colic and gastro-enteritis.
He was killed in action in the Sinai canal (Suez) zone on August 9th 1916. Richard has no known grave.
